Rio Real Golf - Costa del Sol

The well-established Rio Real golf course is nicely looked upon from the N340 just East of Marbella. The view on the left side over the fairways of the 4th and the 5th towards the see are characteristic for Rio Real Golf and for many returning golfers it feels as their arrival at the famous Marbella golf area at the Costa del Sol.

The relatively flat Rio Real golf course, designed by the reputable Javier Arana, opened in 1965 and is a pleasure to visit.

A couple of holes do have considerable differences in height (Par three 13th). Most of the fairways are separated from each other by matured trees providing Rio Real Golf its own character. The river Río Real crosses the golf course at several points, which makes this little natural water hazard well in play.

The relatively new clubhouse has a large terrace that provides great views over the golf course. Since 2000 Rio Real Golf also offers Excellent Hotel facilities straight at the course. The Par four 4th hole reaches all the way towards the beach.
