Marbella Golf & Country Club - Costa del Sol

Teeing of on the first hole of the Marbella Golf & Country Club will probably be an intimidating experience for most among us because of the steep ravines.

After a couple of holes, however, the golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1990, transforms to more reasonable standards but will still require all your attention. The 6th hole (par 5) is one of the most spectacular at the Costa del Sol (see panorama picture). From the tee you

are able to drive on two different plateaus. Go for the right elevated plateau. From here you will have a clear view to the green. A stream crosses the fairway twice which makes the second stroke tricky. The relatively small green is protected by severe bushes at the hilly back and a lake in front of it. The Marbella Golf & Country Club is also known for the generally large undulated greens.

From both the terrace of the luxurious clubhouse of the Marbella Golf & Country Club and the golf course you will enjoy some superb panoramic views over the sea and Marbella.
